Annual Awards

Descriptions of award categories are below. Nominees must live, provide charitable services, do business and/or exemplify our Western roots in the Mancos Valley.

Person of the Year: An individual of any age who has made the Mancos Valley a better place to live and has been a role model in the community. This person exemplifies our community values. Think about a neighbor, teacher, grocery store clerk, fireman, student nurse, hairdresser, waitress, aunt or uncle.

Nonprofit of the Year: A nonprofit organization which has made the Mancos Valley a better place to live by providing charitable services to our community in any category, i.e., recreation, education, preservation of natural resources, youth services, the arts, food, etc.

Business of the Year: A chamber member business which provides goods or services in an impeccable manner: high quality, high level of customer service, professional, ethical, on time and on budget. Think of retailers, restaurants, professional and other service providers like: lawyers, window washers, contractors, yoga instructors, photographers, etc.

Cowboy/Cowgirl of the Year: An individual of any age who embodies our Western spirit, agricultural and/or ranching roots. This person could be a rancher, farmer, horse trainer, trail rider or rodeo queen. You decide!
